Born on August 23, 1968, in Delhi, KK became one of India’s most beloved singers, known for his soulful voice and memorable ballads that connect with listeners across all ages. His music has touched generations, making him one of the most cherished voices in India.
KK’s music career began after he graduated from Delhi University’s Kirori Mal College. Initially, he explored a career in marketing but soon decided to pursue his passion for singing. In 1994, KK submitted a demo tape, which led to him singing commercial jingles, helping him gain recognition. His Bollywood breakthrough came in 1999 with the heartfelt song “Tadap Tadap” from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, marking his entry into playback singing. That same year, he released his debut solo album Pal, which included hits like “Yaaron,” quickly making him a favorite for his relatable and nostalgic music.
Throughout his career, KK recorded over 500 Hindi songs and more than 200 regional tracks, making him one of India’s most dynamic playback singers. Tragically, KK passed away shortly after a live performance in Kolkata, but his influence in music remains strong.
