A recent promo from Indian Idol featured Sangeeta Bijlani as a special guest. During the show, contestant Ritika Raj Singh surprised Sangeeta by asking if the rumors about her and Salman Khan’s wedding cards being printed were true. Ritika asked, “We heard that your and Salman sir’s wedding cards had already been printed?”
Sangeeta, along with Shreya Ghosal and Vishal Dadlani, appeared shocked by the question. However, she confirmed the rumour, saying, “Yes, that’s not a lie.” Vishal then asked her to share the full story, saying, “Then what happened? What’s the story?”
Sangeeta Bijlani and Salman Khan reportedly began dating in 1986 and were in a serious relationship for eight years. Their bond was so strong that they even printed wedding invitations. However, their plans were abruptly canceled just a month before the wedding.
Industry rumours suggest that Sangeeta Bijlani and Salman Khan’s breakup was due to Sangeeta discovering Salman’s affair with Pakistani-American actress Somy Ali. Somy, who had been infatuated with Salman since she was 15, moved to India to pursue a Bollywood career and began a relationship with him. However, their relationship ended badly, reportedly due to Salman’s abusive behaviour.
