Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna critiqued Akshay Kumar’s recent film choices, suggesting a return to action roles. Khanna revealed he pitched a project to Akshay, who declined, citing a period of bad luck. Despite past collaborations, Khanna advised Akshay to embrace “fighter” roles, aligning with his established on-screen persona and audience expectations.

Mukesh Khanna recently criticised several major stars, including Akshay Kumar, in an interview. He accused Akshay of being lazy and mentioned advising him professionally. Khanna also claimed to have offered a project to Akshay, who admitted that he isn’t currently in the spotlight.
In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Mukesh revealed that he advised Akshay to return to action roles, which suit his image. He also mentioned that Akshay’s performance in Samrat Prithviraj didn’t do justice to the film, and even the director acknowledged the flaws. Khanna suggested that Akshay should focus on roles as a fighter, aligning with his on-screen persona.

Khanna, who has worked with Akshay in six films, praised him for being one of the most athletic and dedicated actors in the industry. He shared that he recently met Akshay at Mehboob Studios to pitch a film idea but Akshay declined, citing bad luck. Khanna complimented him for being more selective about his roles now, as opposed to accepting everything earlier.

Mukesh advised Akshay to take on roles where he portrays “fighters,” as he felt the audience didn’t want to see him appear meek on screen. Khanna mentioned that they didn’t discuss the matter further. Earlier, Akshay addressed criticism over doing multiple films per year, expressing confusion over why his busy work schedule was being questioned.
