NEW DELHI: After missing the initial rounds of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy due to personal reasons, all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to link-up with his state side Baroda and will be seen in action against Bengal in the Round 4 of the tournament on December 28.
The 31-year-old will be making a return to the 50-over format after a gap of over a year.
Hardik last featured in an one-dayer for India during the 2023 ODI World Cup against Bangladesh in Pune where he got injured and was subsequently ruled out of the remainder of the tournament.
Earlier, Hardik had conveyed his keenness and availability to feature in India’s top domestic 50-over tournament.
Hardik, last represented India in the T20Is in South Africa and after played the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for his state side Baroda.
In the domestic T20 tournament, Hardik scored 246 runs in 7 matches, hitting two half-centuries and averaged 49.20. Showcasing his batting prowess, Hardik’s strike rate was an astounding 193.70 in SMAT.
To go with his batting heroics, the all-rounder also had a decent outing with the ball, claiming six wickets with best figures of 3/27.
With the Champions Trophy round the corner, Hardik’s participation in the Vijay Hazare Trophy is really good news for India.
