Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya recently reignited the Bollywood supremacy debate with bold remarks about Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan during an interview with Shubhankar Mishra. While Abhijeet praised SRK, calling him “in a different class,” but dismissed Salman, claiming he isn’t worth discussing.
When asked about his experiences with both stars, Abhijeet admitted to having professional turbulence with them but emphasized that his issues with Shah Rukh were strictly work-related. The singer said, “Salman abhi bhi unme nahi aata ke mai uske baare me charcha karu. Baaki inke baare me aap mujhse baat mat karo” (Salman is still not at a level where I can talk about him. Please don’t talk to me about the rest).
Despite their professional differences, Abhijeet made it clear that he respects SRK’s talent. The singer has worked on iconic tracks for Shah Rukh Khan, including songs from Baadshah, Chalte Chalte, Yes Boss, Mai Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om, and more.
Abhijeet also shared an anecdote about working on the song “Tan Tana Tan” from Judwaa, revealing that he was unaware that Salman Khan was the lead in the film. “Trust me, I didn’t know Salman was in the movie,” he admitted, explaining that he had assumed the song was for Govinda due to David Dhawan’s frequent collaborations with the comedy star at the time.

He further took a swipe at Salman Khan when Abhijeet was told that he has messed with all the Khans and said that ‘Salman duaon pe chalta rehta hai.’ To which, Abhijeet responded, “Shah Rukh Khan has a different class. Whatever I have is not a misunderstanding. This is due to professional work. Baki logo ke bare me baat nahi karunga.”
Abhijeet also faced questions about his past remarks and support for Salman Khan during the hit-and-run case. When asked about it, Abhijeet strongly denied the accusation, stating, “Maine ye kaha tha ki road par soyenge. Uske pehle bhi dekhiye na news mein ek truck rondke chala gaya chaar logo ko. Ye roz ho raha hai. Road par aadmi so raha hai footpath pe bhi nahi. Maine kaha ye jo hota hai…road par soyenge to ek daarubaaz aayega daaru pike gaadi chadha dega tumhare upar. Road par kutte ki tarah so rahe ho. To ek daarubaaz aayega, ek tharki, ab kyu merese wo karwa rahe ho…ye sab chize thi” (I said that if you sleep on the road, a drunk driver might hit you. Before that, you’ve seen reports of trucks running over people. People sleep on roads, even footpaths aren’t safe. I was talking about this – if you sleep on the road, someone might hit you. Why should I be involved in this?).

During the same conversation, Abhijeet also touched upon his past relationship with Shah Rukh Khan, describing it as one similar to that of a “husband and wife.” He reflected on how his voice complemented SRK perfectly, leading to the success of their songs, and expressed a desire to reconcile, noting that they had a strong and productive working relationship.
